Common Questions

Everything you need to know before your Sri Lanka adventure.

Visas & Entry
Do I need a visa to visit Sri Lanka? +
Most nationalities require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) which can be obtained online before arrival. It typically costs USD 35 for tourists and allows a 30-day stay. We're happy to guide you through the process.
How far in advance should I apply for a visa? +
We recommend applying for your Sri Lanka ETA at least 2–4 weeks before your departure date. The online process is straightforward and approvals are usually issued within a few days, but it's best to have it confirmed well in advance of travel.
Best Time to Visit
When is the best time to visit Sri Lanka? +
Sri Lanka is a year-round destination. The west and south coast (Galle, Mirissa) are best from November to April. The east coast (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay) shines from May to September. The hill country is pleasant year-round. We'll tailor your itinerary to the optimal time.
Is it safe to travel during the monsoon season? +
Absolutely — Sri Lanka's two monsoons affect different parts of the island at different times, so it's always possible to find great weather somewhere. The rainy season can actually be a wonderful time to visit with fewer crowds and lush green landscapes. We'll plan your route around the best conditions.
Packages & Bookings
What's included in your tour packages? +
Most packages include accommodation, all transfers in an air-conditioned vehicle, an English-speaking guide, entrance fees, and breakfast. Flights are not included but we can recommend and assist with booking. Full details are provided for each specific package.
Can you customize the itinerary to our preferences? +
Absolutely — customization is at the heart of what we do. Our itineraries are starting points. We adjust pace, accommodation style, activities, and destinations completely to your wishes. Use our trip planner or contact us directly.
How do I confirm my booking? +
Once your itinerary is agreed upon, we'll send a detailed booking confirmation and invoice. A deposit of 25% secures your dates. The balance is due 60 days before departure. We accept bank transfer, credit card, and PayPal.
Safety & Health
Is Sri Lanka safe for tourists? +
Yes, Sri Lanka is generally very safe for tourists and is known for its warm hospitality. The local people are incredibly welcoming. Like any travel destination, standard precautions apply, and our team is always available to advise on safe areas and practices.
Do I need vaccinations before travelling to Sri Lanka? +
We recommend consulting your doctor or a travel health clinic at least 6–8 weeks before travel. Common recommendations include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and ensuring routine vaccinations are up to date. Malaria prophylaxis may be advised for some rural areas. Your doctor will advise based on your specific itinerary.
Cancellations & Changes
What is your cancellation policy? +
We offer flexible cancellation options. Cancellations made 60+ days before departure receive a full refund less a small admin fee. 30–60 days: 50% refund. Under 30 days: non-refundable but fully transferable to a future date within 12 months. Full details are in our booking terms.
Can I make changes to my itinerary after booking? +
Minor changes can usually be accommodated free of charge up to 30 days before departure. Significant changes (duration, destinations) may incur additional fees depending on accommodation and transport pre-bookings. Contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.
